Helix Studio – no code design for RPA.
Helix Studio - The No Code Solution for Automation
Most RPA systems require you to learn a new “coding” language or complex ways to design and implement them. Often this requires specialised, scarce and expensive resources.
The Consectus Helix Studio is a “No Code” version of our RPA tool. It utilises an in-built drawing and design tool that enables you to simply draw your processes and then automate them very easily. This can be done without the need for specialist IT skills by ordinary business users.
These users can quickly draw your business processes, tell the bot which icons to click on, where to enter data etc. The bot can then directly interpret and implement the process design. Because Helix is a tool where anyone can build a robotic end-to-end process and add standard interfaces, the need for specialist skills is removed, thereby reducing implementation time and design costs. Helix is a richly functional tool which can deal with a wide range of business processes and tasks in-house.
Component based design.
Helix Studio offers a suite of components that can perform various tasks as part of the Automation workflow to accelerate the end- to- end development process by reusing frequently used parts such as user login or access to external systems via APIs. Examples of some of the components included with Helix are:
- Saved Components: You can select and save a set of preconfigured nodes in the workflow as a sub-component.
- Application Components: These can start or close any application installed on the Agent desktop machine.
- Screen Aid: makes it easy for all tasks that need the user to specify a part of the screen to capture, store and use the image.
- Image Components: They are the fundamental components of Helix and use a capture feature to enable you to find an image, click an image etc.
- OCR Components: Can “read” data or text on the screen and allow you to store it for future use.
Custom or bespoke components can also be created and the workflow can be executed with test data to evaluate the design before committing it to the production environment.
The API is king
By using APIs (Application Progammable Interfaces) the RPA Bot is able to access other systems and interact with them in the way a human operator would do. The systems see the bot in the same way and so respond in the same way. This ensures consistency and therefore reduces operational risk. The RPA bot can easily replace error prone manual re-keying of data from one system to another.
Operational efficiency
RPA robots can operate 24 hours a day and so many tasks can be performed overnight and at weekends. A typical RPA “agent” can comfortably handle the same volume of work as five or more human operators. Almost anything that previously required manual data entry can now be automated. Accounts can be opened, balances checked, settlement figures calculated. Audit trails are complete and manual error eliminated.
