Bath Building Society launches UK’s first Lending Criteria Chatbot

Bath Building Society has partnered with Consectus to launch the UK’s first ever conversational AI chat bot for Intermediaries.

The AI chatbot is a smart addition to the Society’s live chat function, designed to make life easier for Intermediaries looking for a quick answer 24/7.

Bea (Bath’s electronic assistant) has joined the Society’s team of Intermediary chat Agents and is able to answer questions about the Society’s lending criteria and frequently asked questions. For more complex questions, Bea will immediately transfer Intermediaries to the Bath Building Society Intermediary team during office hours, or provide the option to send an email to the team out of office hours.

Bath Building Society’s Chief Commercial Officer, Colin McDougall, said:

“We know our Intermediary partners are busy people and often just looking for a simple answer to criteria-based questions when they join our live chat. By integrating an efficient AI chatbot service we hope to provide quick answers to criteria and frequently asked questions, although team is only a click away to answer more complex questions. Bea is also available out of office hours which is often when Intermediaries are meeting clients, so we believe the ability to check criteria 24/7 will become an invaluable tool.”
